Sensaround + Otiose Duo

Australian/Scots electro-acoustic trio Sensaround work in a unique middle ground between melodic jazz ambience, ghostly dub and post-punk experiments as lo-fi rhythms press up against woodwind melodies and Rhodes tones are set awash in free percussion. The meeting of jazz heavyweights Alister Spence and Raymond MacDonald with indie-electronic producer Shoeb Ahmad, the trio join new Australian label Provenance in the second half of this year with August marking the release of Little Stabs, a collection of music recorded live in Tokyo, Kobe and Okayama with famed improvisors Michiyo Yagi, Satoko Fujii, Natsuki Tamura and Yasuko Kaneko during the trio's Japanese tour in February 2016, edited together as a cut'n'splice collage in the spirit of legendary producer Teo Macero.

Joining the trio are Canberra based Otiose Duo, who mesh saxophone and pure data manipulation to create a heady rush of acoustic sound and digital detritus that shimmers, stutters and swirls in the physical spaces their music inhabits. This performance will be the launch of their first album Cartacoethes, released on Ahmad's hellosQuare label.

Street Two - Unreserved | Duration 100 minutes including interval.
