World Voice Day: True Vocal Fold Workshop

EXPLORE YOUR TVF ON WORLD VOICE DAY

Where does my voice come from?

An exploration of the sound source for voicing - your true vocal folds.

Find out what the TVF are capable of, and the many different sound qualities you can produce with your instrument.

Suitable for beginners to advanced, and relevant to spoken word and any kind of singing.

Bring along your own speech, poem, monologue, song or work presentation. No need to memorise.

Celebrate World Voice Day by learning about, and sounding, your amazing TVF (true vocal folds) in this free workshop led by artistic director of Wild Voices Music Theatre, Dianna Nixon.

Dianna, a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, has over 40 years of practical experience as a multi-disciplinary performer and educator.  In 2012, Dianna was awarded a Churchill Fellowship enabling her to undertake an overseas program of study and research into voice practice, including attending PEVOC (Pan-European Voice Conference) in Prague. In 2015, Dianna presented a workshop at the International Music Theatre Educators Alliance Conference in Perth (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts), and attended the Pan-European Voice Conference in Florence, Italy. Dianna was the only Australian delegate at the 2017 PEVOC in Ghent, Belgium. Dianna will attend the Estill Voice International Symposium in London this August. Dianna has conducted intensive voice and performance workshops for professional theatre companies, for community choirs and school groups and been employed in the education programs of state opera companies. She runs a thriving studio teaching voice, musicianship and piano.
