PLAYwrite

Like a book club for playscripts.

Overview

PLAYwrite Sessions are an opportunity to read and discuss plays with other theatre artists, encouraging lively discussion and creative idea sharing while building our collective working knowledge of contemporary plays.

Led by dramaturg/director Shelly Higgs, each session will be a facilitated informal conversation on a specific character driven text including verbalising some key scenes or moments within the script (frustrated actors this is for you!). We may discuss form, mechanics of writing, character and language as well as talking about how we’d approach the text in a performance setting and useful devices that may influence your own writing.

Each session provides an opportunity for artists to exchange scripts with others and discuss plays you’ve been reading or thinking about in a relaxed, supported environment.
