David Helfgott live in Canberra!

The ‘Rach 3’ is widely known as one of the most technically demanding piano concerti ever written, and David Helfgott’s quest to conquer it was central to the film Shine (1996). Helfgott will once again embark on the rare challenge of performing an arrangement of the concerto for two pianos, joined by internationally acclaimed pianist Rhodri Clarke.

Blues-boogie-woogie-ragtime jazz master Jan Preston, known as Australia’s Queen of Piano, is bringing her brand new show to Canberra. Adventures in Pianoland, chronicles the life and career of award-winning music legend  Preston and is an intimate engrossing combination of skilfully performed piano music, images, songs and stories, masterfully directed by award-winning New Zealand film director Gaylene Preston who also happens to be Jan’s sister.
