Imagined with the idea of creating a platform in Canberra for an Australia-Europe cultural dialogue, SEGUE premiered in 2015 to celebrate our shared contemporary world – what connects us, what enriches us through difference. Profiling contemporary performance with a European dimension and exploring the many creative influences generated by our shared history the festival takes place over Europe Day celebrations.

In 2015, the SEGUE program showcased four performances and featured a public forum:

A visually stunning meditation on the fragility of space and our place within it

MASSACRE
Stone/Castro & Colectivo 84 (Australia/Portugal)

CONVERGENCE
Aves Nocturnas (Croatia/Australia)

Rare vocal treasures and intriguing personal tales from this collaboration where soprano and piano traverse two continents over one hundred years

DEUX
Baby et Lulu (France/Australia)

Australia's seductive French-language duo take on classic and contemporary chansons by some of the greatest French songwriters and a selection of new self-penned compositions

DELVE DEEPER: Working Between Cultures
