THEATRE TECHNICIAN
The Street Theatre is Canberra’s creative powerhouse, and award-winning home of live performance in the ACT. We commission, develop, produce and present live performance.
An opportunity has arisen to join The Street providing technical support in the permanent part-time term role of Theatre Technician.
We are seeking a suitable skilled and enthusiastic individual looking for a hands-on role with an interest in developing their skills in an exciting and creative organisation producing and presenting performance work in a professional environment.
Please note, the nature of working for a theatre company and this position requires a degree of flexibility, and will include a mix of days, evenings, and weekends. Manual handling and working at heights is an inherent physical requirement of this role.
Duties
Building maintenance: contribute to core infrastructure and facilities being well maintained.
Equipment maintenance: contribute to ensuring all equipment owned by The Street is consistently in good working order, maintained and stored effectively, assist monitor consumables stock levels and equipment inventory.
Production Support – Lighting, Sound and AV operation, Mechanist and Stage Management work; bump-in and bump-out venue work.

Casual Technical Staff
The Street Theatre employs multi-skilled casual technicians to assist in the maintenance of equipment and technical support of productions within a diverse program mix across three spaces in 2024.
