Sound+
Sound+ is an exciting new stream of work that places sound at the centre of performance-making. Sound+ works are conceived as audio-anchored journeys—where sound is a foundational part of the storytelling, inviting audiences into deeply intimate and rich performance experiences.
Experienced through headphones worn throughout the performances and supported by lighting design and thoughtful activation of spaces, Sound+ seeks to uncover the creative potential of sound-led work and to reshape how theatre can be felt, heard, and understood.
With each work an invitation to listen differently, to step inside an audio experience where imagination is activated, perception is heightened, and story unfolds; Sound+ promises both a cinematic aural experience and one that is deeply personal.

When: Friday 22nd May, 2026

Expression of Interest – Actors
We are seeking expressions of interest from actors and voice artists with less than 5 years professional and independent experience, curious about the possibilities of voice over, voice drama and sound driven work, seeking to build their technical and creative skills.
Under the experienced guidance of Andrew Hearle from Collective Sound, participants will explore how storytelling can be shaped, driven, and transformed through the use of voice, character and narration in this full day workshop.
If interested, please send an EOI to creative@thestreet.org.au by COB Monday 27th April answering the following questions:
Why are you interested in voice over work?
What skills are you hoping to develop?
Please provide a brief bio (up to 300 words) of your professional and independent work as an actor/voice artist.
