Four-time Golden Guitar nominee and Aotearoa Music Award winner, Jenny Mitchell, joins forces with Newcastle's free-range bluegrass band Midnight Chicken for a special run of shows in 2027, featuring their new single "Mr Cotter's Ridge." Produced by Shane Nicholson, the single tells the true story of an 1860s farmer who refused to cut down three ancient gum trees. 

Known for songs that are both nostalgic and powerful, Jenny recently supported the iconic Kasey Chambers on a 32-date Australian tour and kicked off 2026 opening for global superstars The Lumineers. Now based in Melbourne, on this tour she'll be sharing songs from her catalogue - and new work - surrounded by Midnight Chicken's intricate arrangements and warm harmonies.

Hatched and hand-raised in Newcastle, NSW, Midnight Chicken's wild and wonderful take on bluegrass has been turning heads across Australia - and on their sold out New Zealand tour with Jenny in 2026. Blending tradition with a playful edge, their self-titled debut album has connected with fans of country, folk, bluegrass & everything in between. 

Together, Jenny & Midnight Chicken will deliver a night of storytelling, string-band magic, and a little bit of mischief.
