Azure Hiptronics

On the wings of their latest, highly acclaimed album, Azure Hiptronics will embark on a series of energetic and captivating live concerts throughout Australia in June 2016.
The coming live shows will tell a story of estrangement and homecoming through the groove-laden, eclectic and intense music from their concept album Hiptronics. Rogier, Federico, Luciano and David will bring the audience into Hiptronics' world of surrealistic adventure, performing while immersed in colourful and sometimes trippy visual projections by French artist Fabien Marcadet.
The band, who refer to their music as Ultrafunkatronicjazzhippop, have previously played at venues like MASP (São Paulo, BR) and North Sea Jazz (Rotterdam, NL).

ABOUT

Guitar player Rogier Schneemann and a pianist met at serendipitous jam session where they pleasantly discovered a musical spark. Taking bass maestro Luciano Poli and drummer extraordinaire David Barker in their midst, they decided to collaborate. Azure was born!
The sum of two years hard work was recorded on their debut album ‘When She Smiles’, counting nine original love inspired pieces. The self-released album gained wide critical acclaim and praise across the United States and Europe, and Azure toured through The Netherlands and South-America.
After the original pianist relocated to Paris, they met producer and synthesizer wizard Federico Solazzo and immediately something altogether new emerged. The band transformed into Azure Hiptronics including their brand new groovy, eclectic and electronic sound. Featuring talented guest artists, this metamorphoses was chronicled on their second album, Hiptronics.
