German-Australian Opera Grant | Masterclass

The annual nationwide presentations and masterclasses conducted by the Artistic Director of the MTO German‑Australian Opera Grant.

Each year, Dr David Kram travels around Australia to speak with singers and offer free masterclasses, with a focus on the German‑Australian Opera Grant (www.mto‑gaog.com). These sessions also provide audiences with an opportunity to learn about opera conditions in Germany and the significant international progress being made by Australian artists. Dr David Kram AM
Dr Kram's extensive career over several decades has seen him conduct in many countries. Dr Kram conducts opera, choral, symphonic and ballet repertoire, with several world premieres to his credit, often sort after for bringing new works to life.
Fluent in French, German and Italian, Dr Kram has worked with leading orchestras in Germany, Switzerland and Australia as well as  for international festivals. Most recently he conducted Wagner's Ring Cycle for Melbourne Opera, 2023.
