Green Gig For Canberra
Music and politics go together like coffee and chocolate, beer and chips, or coal and climate change. Six weeks out from the federal election, the Greens candidate for the brand new winnable seat of Canberra, Tim Hollo, will take the stage with his band, FourPlay String Quartet, special guests An Inconvenient Groove, and MC (former senator) Scott Ludlam, for a fantastic night of notes and votes.
Australia's favourite eclectic electric string quartet, FourPlay return to The Street Theatre where they recorded their fourth album and have performed to sold out crowds. FourPlay are a global sensation, performing their unique mix of rock, classical, folk, blues and politically charged messages everywhere from the National Folk Festival to New York’s Carnegie Hall and London’s Barbican Centre. Their latest single, Wish, written by Tim Hollo, is a powerful, haunting ballad about living in a climate changed world.
An Inconvenient Groove are Canberra's best known climate change aware funk band. With grooves as deep as the Marianas Trench and energy as high as global temperatures, this is the funkiest thing to come out of Canberra since blue green algae in Lake Burley Griffin.
Funds raised on the night go to the Greens election campaign.
