Skipping Girl Vinegar Solo

Expect to be uplifted by acclaimed singer-songwriter Mark Lang as Skipping Girl Vinegar comes for a special solo show at The Street this November. A must-see immersive live experience that is rich with melody and sing-along choruses, blended with shared stories that unravel the inspirations behind Skipping Girl Vinegar's highly celebrated new album The Great Wave and previous work. With three albums that have made many 'Album Of The Year' lists, receiving extensive radio play on US college radio, Triple J, ABC and community radio nationwide, as well as thrilling audiences at many of Australia's premier festivals including Bluesfest, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and more.

Legendary Nashville producer Brad Jones (Josh Rouse, Ron Sexsmith) flew to Australia specifically to work on their third full-length after hearing the album demos, with Mark taking the world-class producer out of the big studio environment to record in sheds and abandoned halls along the very same Victorian coastline that so heavily influenced the writing of the album.

A testament to love, new album The Great Wave is a sonic explosion of colour; capturing the move away from city, the heart-break of a cancer diagnosis, the search for hope and light in the depths of critical life challenges and the journey into recovery.

"Album Of The Year Finalist" The Age
"A Must See Immersive Live Experience" Arts Centre Melbourne
"Blending Springsteen-esque hope with Luke Steele otherworldliness, tracks roar with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club infused energy with Lang's lyrical strengths on show"  Rolling Stone
"This has 'hit' written all over it. A great record that deserves to be a Top 10 hit worldwide." Peter Noble, Bluesfest Festival Director
"Like a diver you can swim deep into this experience. It hinges on Lang's vocal landscapes and thought out lyric... What cries out is a voice, an understanding and an ability to draw from life a new, uniquely genuine experience" The Canberra Times

Support comes from local indie explorers Cracked Actor, who pare things back for a special duo performance with lush guitars, delicate vocals and looped harmonies. Following the release of their acclaimed album Iconoclast and strong performances around the country this year, this is a great chance to see them in their hometown out of the pub and in the intimate setting of Street Two.

"electronica-meets-guitar pop that lulls you with its beauty" Beat Magazine
"terrific, original tunes immaculately produced and performed with ease...haunting yet tender" TheMusic
"a mood-setter of a record that's worth a second look" Sydney Morning Herald

Street Two - unreserved | Duration - 140 minutes with interval.
