Under Sedation

Under Sedation: Canberra verse remixed takes on a curated collection of compositions from the 1940s to the present day, weaving together the old, the new, sung, spoken, published, drafted, applauded, unknown, the earnest, irreverent – and turns them into a new theatre work. 

Set in the round surrounded by Goya’s Saturn, a man and a woman look at each other and embark on a series of intricate encounters in Canberra. A play of words, physical theatre and music unfolds.

Verses penned are reworked, remixed, re-licked and re-loaded into a thought-provoking story with a mix of characters in Canberra silhouettes played by two actors, unravelling the inhumanity of humanity and their complacency, loneliness, anger, loss, and joy.
