An Evening of Eclectic Improvisation

To many people Jimi Hendrix is arguably the greatest electric guitarist that has ever lived. His influence on the instrument is undeniable, from the sounds and gear used, to the recording process and last but not least music as a whole.

This performance rather than a typical tribute show, will be an Eclectic Experience as the Chris Johnstone Band interprets the music the only way they know how, an all instrumental mix of jazz, blues, rock, funk and world grooves. Do not miss this opportunity to hear some of Jimi’s most popular music from albums like ‘Axis Bold as Love’, ‘Electric Ladyland’ and of course the debut album ‘Are You Experienced’ among others.

Returning from last years successful ‘Jazz meets Funk’ show are musicians James Luke (bass) and Ben Schumann (drums)…..who along with guitarist Chris Johnstone will explore the music like never before, mixing Chris’s extensive vocabulary of jazz and electric guitar stylings complimented by years of study and teaching of the music of Hendrix. 

This is a night not to be missed and one where the Experience will last as long as Jimi’s music continues to be shared…..
