At The End Of Our Street

Your stories about your community and why you love it enacted on stage in an interactive Playback Theatre show that will fill the heart and revive the spirit  

Rebus Theatre’s Playback Ensemble has just finished touring their new show ‘At The End Of Our Street’ through East Gippsland, Eurobodalla Shire and Bega Velley Shire as part of Project Alchemy, a cross disciplinary arts project to build resilience across south-east Australia. Rebus is rounding out the show with 3 more in and around Canberra. 

Playback Theatre is a form of improvisational theatre in which audience members tell stories from their own lives and watch as actors and musicians enact them on the spot using movement, music and words, but without script or rehearsal. It can be moving or funny according to the stories shared. 

Playback Theatre is a powerful way for people to share stories on common themes. Audiences are left with a better understanding of the issues that concern them as a community. They connect to each other and to their common goals and struggles.  

‘At The End Of Our Street’ will see the audiences real stories enacted on stage in an interactive theatre show that will fill the heart and revive the spirit.  

All proceeds from Canberra events will be donated to the Red Cross Disaster Response and Recovery program.
