Resident Street: I Play Myself by Emma Batchelor
The Street and Emma Batchelor invite you to a work-in-progress showing of I Play Myself, an interdisciplinary performance work developed as part of Resident Street in 2024.
During her residency, Emma has been bringing together both her writing and movement practices to create a new performance work that pushes at the boundaries of form. She is excited to share her process and the work with an audience for the first time and to receive feedback on the work as it develops.
This relaxed showing will include a presentation of the work so far and an opportunity for discussion with Emma and the other creatives who have been supporting the work.
Reservations are essential to manage numbers. Please RSVP with name and telephone number via rsvp@thestreet.org.au
Content warning: Please be aware that this work discusses mental illness and suicidal ideation among themes of work, queerness and love. Given the informal nature of the showing, attendees will be able to leave the space at any time if they need to.
