CIIF Appetite
a hunger
by Luana Proença (Brazil)
With a hunger to work with the system of improvised practice and composition developed by Argentine Julieta Zarza, Luana Proença led a group of Festival improvisers through a four-session intensive training program to create Appetite.
A free-form theatrical platform built on physicality, clowning, Viewpoints, capoeira, contemporary dance, and basic acrobatics, Appetite will serve a tray full of poetic flavours for audiences to enjoy, bound together by the centripetal force of the shared mindset of the improvising passengers on this Ferris wheel of dramatic and comedic composition.
Whilst enjoying the ‘snacks’ from this tray, naturally create their own recipe of addictive body-driven artistic expression and entertainment. Thrust into the mixing bowl and liberally seasoned with the excitement of living truly in the moment, this promises to be a highlight performance in the Festival.
