PANEL
Heinz Riegler is an Austrian born musician and multidisciplinary artist working between Australia and Europe. First emerging as a songwriter and performer in the late 1980s, Riegler has since expanded his output across video, installation and visual art, both as a solo artist and in collaborative contexts.
He is an ARIA award winner with the group Not From There, was twice short listed for the Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship and is the co-founder of minus20degree, a biennial art and architecture festival located in the Austrian Alps.
Gosia Wlodarczak graduated Master of Fine Arts (1984), the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. She settled in Australia 1996 and now lives in Melbourne and works in Australia and internationally. Drawing is the basis of her whole practice, extending towards performance, interactive situations, installation, digital college, printmaking, sound and film; she refers to it as cross-disciplinary drawing. In 2013 her practice was featured in Phaidon publication Vitamin D2: New Perspectives in Drawing and in 2012 "Hyperdrawing: Beyond the Lines of Contemporary Art" published by TRACEY (Drawing and Visualisation Research Institute) Loughborough University UK.
Monica Brooks is a musician who uses improvisation as the base method to composition, as well as the key approach when working with groups such as Great Waitress, Electronic Resonance Korps and West Head Project. Over the last few years, she has travelled the world with various projects to perform in spaces and at festivals including Music Unlimited (Austria), Café Oto (UK), Taipei Contemporary Arts Centre (Taiwan), MONA FOMA and the Sydney Opera House.
She is currently co-director of Merry Crisis ARI in Arncliffe and will be releasing her first solo piano LP on cult Sydney label RIP Society in mid-2016.
